Once the Beijing Sixth Ring Road was the transport backbone of the city's development, the current Sixth Ring highway blocked the exchange between the east and west sides of the site. The design attempts to transfer the excavated soil to the east side, continuing the linear landscape space of the Sixth Ring with the "Meadow"; placing the functionally complex module below the High line; retaining the height of the original Sixth Ring Highway, modifying the local roadbeds. The east side is connected to the Beijing sub-centre administrative district by urban bridges, while the west side is connected by an indoor-outdoor bridge, completing the ground-level and above-ground corridor. The air corridor and the landscape corridor are built to reweave the landscape water system near the administrative centre with the Sixth Ring highway, creating a green artery that integrates vitality, traffic and ecology, creating a new picture of Beijing with functional integration, industrial clustering and blue-green coexistence.
