The urban design strategy focuses on the original urban mechanism of the Lumu Old Street area, respecting the unique cultural genes, such as the ruins of the imperial kiln, Lumu Old Street and the ancient bridges, utilising the urban marginal spaces, activating the natural characteristics of Yuanhe Tang Water Street by enriching the landscape space on the waterfront and restoring the cultural and commercial space, linking and continuing the composite functions of the waterfront, the capillary urban regeneration and architectural renovation strategy is used to preserve the texture of the old streets, complete the renewal and integration of the area, and establish the foundation for the integration of industry and city, thus presenting the greatest possible cultural heritage of Suzhou.
